Weekly · hosted by Austin Moffat
A conversation with someone running real dental buildings, then the fractional CFO read on what their numbers are actually saying. No hype. No benchmarks pulled from thin air.
The premise
Above it is the practice everyone sees: the production number, the new patient count, the growth story you tell at study club. Below it is the part a CFO reads. Most owners are only ever shown the top half. This show works the bottom.

Who listens
Three kinds of people keep coming back. If you recognize yourself here, the show is built for you.
Production is up, the account balance isn't, and nobody has explained the gap in a sentence you can act on.
You blended your P&L to keep it readable and lost the one view that tells you which building is carrying the others.
You're being valued on EBITDA you've never personally rebuilt from the ledger. That's a negotiation you're entering blind.
The host
I've read the books on 250+ dental practices. The pattern is almost never a revenue problem.
I'm Austin Moffat. I work as a fractional CFO to dental owners and emerging groups, which mostly means I spend my weeks in ledgers other people would rather not open, then translate what I find into three decisions someone can make on a Monday.
This show exists because those conversations were too good to keep in a Zoom call. Every week I sit down with someone running real buildings, ask what their numbers are doing, and give the read out loud, the same read I'd give a client, with the same directness.

The weekly read
Each episode ships with a short written read: the single metric that moved, what it actually meant, and the question to ask your own numbers this week. Two minutes. No newsletter voice.
You're on. First read lands Thursday.
That didn't go through. Email [email protected] and I'll add you by hand.
Weekly. Unsubscribe in one click. Nothing else is ever sent to this list.
A one-page worksheet I use in the first client session: rebuild a single location's true margin from the four lines your P&L already has.
Be a guest
The format is simple: you talk about the building you run, I read what the numbers are doing, and we work through it on air. You keep the read whether or not it's flattering. Owners at any size, from one operatory to forty.
Recorded remotely, 45 minutes, edited to 28. You'll see the questions beforehand.
